The 11th edition of the ASEAN-ROK Film Leaders Incubator or FLY 2025 is taking place from 4 to 19 September 2025 in Busan, Korea, marking the programme’s finale this year.

FLY is a short film production workshop that aims to strengthen the film talent base in Asia. Each year, young filmmakers from Korea and each ASEAN Member States are selected and gather to co-produce short films. The programme is hosted by Busan Metropolitan City with support from the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF). It is co-organised by Busan Film Commission and Asian Film Commissions Network (AFCNet).

Since its launch in 2012, FLY has been held annually across ASEAN Member States, except during the COVID-19 pandemic, before concluding in Busan, which is widely recognised as Asia’s leading film city.

This year, a total of 22 trainees, two from Korea and two from each ASEAN Member States are participating in FLY 2025. Over the past two months, they completed an online production course to develop their scripts. They are divided into two groups and will produce a total of four short films together.

In addition to the hands-on film production during the workshop, the trainees will attend advanced lectures on film production covering directing, cinematography, music, editing, production, and art.
