The 1st In-Situ Training Course of the AKCF-funded “Critical Minerals Management & Strategy for Sustainable Environment in ASEAN” project is being held from 25 August to 4 September 2025 in Sukabumi Regency, West Java and Jakarta, Indonesia. The in-situ training is designed to enhance the technical capabilities of government officials and experts from ASEAN Member States in practical geological exploration and integrated data management.

Over the course of the training, participants will gain knowledge and hands-on skills related to field exploration using advanced technologies, satellite imagery and integrated data analysis, as well as practical sample analysis and interpretation methods. With technical expertise shared by the Korea Institute of Geoscience & Mineral Resources (KIGAM) and its technical subcontractors from Korea, the training is expected to support the development of sustainable critical minerals among ASEAN Member States.

The training is implemented by KIGAM, as co-implementing agency of the project, with support from Coordinating Committee for Geoscience Programme (CCOP) and Geological Agency of Indonesia (GAI) as co-proponents.
