The 18th East Asia Forum (EAF) via video conference

HA NOI/ONLINE, 10 December 2020 – The 18th East Asia Forum (EAF), under the theme of “Strengthening the ASEAN Plus Three (APT) Cooperation for Economic and Financial Resilience in the Face of Emerging Challenges”, was held via video conference on 10 December 2020.

With the support from the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF), the Forum was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam and attended by government officials, business representatives, and academics from ASEAN Member States, the Republic of Korea, China and Japan, as well as ASEAN Secretariat. The Forum was comprised of two sessions (i) strengthening regional capacity in response to external economic and financial shocks, including macro-economic surveillance and early warning capabilities; and (ii) restoring the momentum for regional economic integration and sustainable growth in East Asia.

The Forum provided a significant opportunity which enabled the participants to discuss key area of economic and financial resilience and efforts to address COVID-19 pandemic in the East Asia region.
