[Deadline Extended] Applications Open for ASEAN–Korea Young Scholar Research Grant

[DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 6 NOVEMBER 2025]

The ASEAN-Korea Young Scholar Research Grant is now open for applications.  

This annual programme supports graduate students from ASEAN Member States (including Timor-Leste, expected to become a member in October 2025) and Korea to conduct on-site fieldwork to help them grow as a future leader in Southeast Asian and ASEAN studies.  

Selected applicants will receive funding for fieldwork in ASEAN countries or Korea, excluding their country of origin, a chance to present their research at the ASEAN-Korea Young Scholar Workshop, and networking opportunities with scholars and institutions across the region.  

Interested applicants must submit their application by 6 November 2025, following the guidelines provided on the official programme website. 

The ASEAN-Korea Young Scholar Research Grant is part of the ASEAN-Korea Platform for Great Minds (AKPGM) project supported by the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF). The project is implemented by the Korean Association of Southeast Asian Studies (KASEAS).
